Lasith Malinga Credits IPL for ICC T20 World Cup Success

Lasith Malinga, who led Sri Lanka to win ICC T20 title, has credited his success to Indian Premier League. Sri Lankans won first major crown for 18 years. Talking about the final, Malinga said that Sri Lanka's success was due to the inability of Indian batsmen to score runs in last four overs. He added that Indian batsmen are good to get runs in the final overs. Knowing the habit, he realised how to bowl and how to set field for them. He said that we were executing the plans which we had discussed before the game.
Earlier Malinga faced criticism from the Lankans that he had put the IPL before country because his performance against India had been left much to be desired. But now Malinga becomes the first captain after Arjuna Ranatunga to lift the ICC World Cup trophy.
